FESTIVAL PREPARATIONS
You're welcome to come to one of our Team Gatherings for prayer and connection. Meetings are ongoing in the DC area. Please contact us if you're interested in attending an upcoming meeting.
GETTING TO THE MALL ON JULY 4TH ON THE METRO
~ Save yourself some hassle and take Metro.
~ Other Metro stops that are close are Federal Center SW on the Orange or Blue Line and L'Enfant Plaza on the Yellow or Green Line - and walk just a couple of blocks to the Mall area.
EVANGELISM TRAINING - ALL ARE WELCOME
Learn some effective, simple ways to share the gospel of Christ with others that connects with them in relational ways.
Evangelism Training Sessions will begin in June. Watch for details.
WE FOLLOW UP WITH EVERYONE WHO MAKES A DECISION TO FOLLOW CHRIST ON JULY 4TH.
We appreciate your prayers for each person who asks Christ to be their Lord and Savior, and chooses to follow him. Our goal each after the 4th is to help each new follower of Christ get connected to a healthy, biblically-based local church for community, discipleship and spiritual life growth.
OUR VOLUNTEER MEETING PLACE THIS YEAR
We're grateful to Washington Bible College in Lanham, MD for hosting our volunteer and leadership gatherings for FreedomFest|DC 2009. It's been a great meeting place for people living in MD, DC and VA. We'll remember the times of prayer, connection and preparation for this year's FreedomFestDC.
For FreedomFest|DC 2010, we will be back at Washington Bible College with regular gatherings preparing for our special 25th Anniversary Event. Plan on joining us in the fall of 2009. Check back in the late summer for announcements for our FreedomFest|DC 2010 gatherings. Pray about being a FreedomFest|DC Point Person for your church or ministry in 2010.
OTHER KEY ITEMS FOR THE EVENT
~ SET UP HELP NEEDED: If you'd like to help with set up on July 3rd, please come down to our site at 3:00 pm. We need help setting up the stage area and other ministry areas. On July 4th, we're asking that all volunteers be there by 10:00 am to serve on one of the many teams.
~ LOOK FOR THE VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN SIGN AND TENT: If you're volunteering, please come to the Volunteer Check-In Tent first. We'll have everything you need there to get started for the day.
~ BAND SCHEDULE: We have a great line up of local bands and singers this year. We will post a final schedule for speakers and bands the week of June 29th. Click here for the schedule.
~ SECURITY CHECKPOINTS: There will be security checkpoints throughout key roadways and walkways that lead to the National Mall. The lines to get into the Mall area are usually shorter on Independence Ave.
~ SPECIAL WORSHIP TIME: Please join us at 12:00 noon on July 4th at 12:00 noon for a special prayer and worship time before the event begins at 1:00 pm. Come to the main stage area and connect with other Christians from various DC area churches.
~ FIREWORKS: The fireworks begin at approximately 9:10 pm on the Washington Monument grounds. Get a front row seat on the main stage!
