FreedomFest|DC is a grassroots multi-church ministry outreach made up of volunteers who have a passion to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to the thousands on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.  Our mission is linking like-minded Christians, churches and ministries together in relationship for outreach.

It’s been an amazing thing since 1985 to experience so many Christians who are busy in their everyday lives uniting together with one driving passion: to share the life-changing message of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible.

In John 17, just before Jesus willingly gave His life on the cross for us, He prayed, “May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that You have sent Me and  loved them even as You haved loved Me.” John 17:23

We believe that Jesus’ prayer was also for followers of Christ today.  Perhaps more than ever, as like-minded churches and ministries, we need to come together to share Christ with those who need Him and demonstrate His unending love to all people.

Our nation needs healing.  Our nation needs hope.  We want to get back to simplicity and what matters most: connecting with people who need real, lasting inner change that only comes from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  That’s our passion.

FreedomFest|DC is more than just an event.  All throughout the year, as we connect with each other, pray together and encourage each other, it’s our hope that we can be a spark in the churches in our area to continue to reach out to people who need Christ.

Living out our mission means making disciples of Jesus who make disciples of Jesus. Discipleship begins with helping people discover new life by entering into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  Then, we are passionate about helping each person who fills out a Connection Card at FreedomFest|DC or any of the year round events held by SANTO Outreach Ministry get plugged into a healthy local church.

We want to say thank you for all of your prayer support, volunteer support and financial support over the years. We look forward to another great year on the Mall.

Our purpose is to let the people that we connect with during the outreach understand that they are morally bankrupt and if they continue on the path of the way they are living they are heading to spend eternity in hell. They need to understand that the physical world has an end and eternity is real that there is a heaven and there is a hell. When we share the Gospel, we remind people that God’s nature is both perfect justice and perfect love. God’s wrath and His love meet at the cross, where Jesus Christ died for our sins.

When we come here, we don’t come with the intention to meet a quota. We don’t focus on just having a person repeat a simple prayer. We want people to hear the true Word of God and fully understand that they are sinners who can be saved. Understand that we are guiding people to make a decision for their eternal destiny and we cannot take the risk of misleading someone.  Of course God will use us to lead people to Jesus, but we need to understand that the conversion of a person is exclusively the role of the Holy Spirit.

When a person understands what Jesus did on the cross and that he needs to repent and surrender his or her life to the Lord we want to celebrate and share it with the body of Christ.  We have a follow-up card that we ask them to fill out so we can help them find a good Bible believing church so they can grow and become a disciple. We want to be transparent and give real and accurate numbers of people who give their lives to Christ.  I personally follow up with people that fill out these cards as long as the information is correct and legible. Sometimes when I have connected with people, many don’t have any idea of what was shared with them or why they filled out a follow-up card. When that happens, I share the Gospel with them and allow the Holy Spirit to work in their lives.
